Mechanical Designer | Custom Automation

We’re seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the mechanical design, 3D modeling, and implementation of customer-specific automated equipment. This role takes machinery from clean-sheet conceptualization through final production, delivering high-precision designs on schedule and within budget.

An established industrial automation and custom machine builder based in the Greater Dayton, Ohio area, specializing in engineered-to-order manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical design for customer-specific automated machinery and process equipment
• Create detailed 3D assemblies and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD Inventor
• Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Manage project deliverables to meet schedule, budget, and customer specifications
• Enforce engineering design standards and machine safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, UL)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a closely related field
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience focused on automated process equipment
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling, specifically AutoCAD Inventor
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• Familiarity with industrial mechanical design and safety standards
