We’re working with a well-respected distributor in search of a high-caliber Transportation Manager near Hickory, NC. Candidates need to have experience managing large, high volume fleets of company drivers. Our client is a company that offers the opportunity for upward mobility based on their size and growth. We also have relationships within the building and are confident in this being a well run operation.

The Transportation Manager leads a team of 8 direct reports and 100+ drivers.

Responsibilities:

– Plans, directs, and oversees transportation functions for the accounts
– Developing great relationships with the drivers and leaders of their client
– Monitor KPI metrics and analyze operational variables and implement solutions that positively impact account performance
– Ensures on-time delivery of products and services
– Ensures transportation operations meets or exceeds safety and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent management experience in the logistics field (3-5 years)
– Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, transportation management and logistics solutions with a broad knowledge of DOT rules and regulations

– Excellent leadership abilities
