Position: Senior Yard Logistics Manager
Location: Hartford, CT
Salary: Competitive Base + Bonus
Description:
We’re working with one of the largest Supply Chain organizations in the US in search of an experienced leader of sizable distribution center yard operations. This individual will have 40 direct/indirect reports and will manage the activity of 180+ outbound loads per week. There is strong upward mobility into a Director level role and reports into an excellent leadership team.
Candidates that are true leaders, honest, up-front, and have managed high-volume operations will have the upper hand.
Responsibilities:
– Oversee the management and execution of a complex and critical yard operation
– Train and develop team members
– Drive KPI performance and cost-reduction strategies
– Foster a safety first culture
– Build and foster relationships with customer(s)
MUST Haves:
– 5+ years of transportation/logistics yard experience
– Full P&L and budget responsibilities
– Strategic thinker and can execute on high level company initiatives
Skills/Abilities:
– Excellent communication and leadership skills
– Systems savvy
– Excellent problem solving skills
– Ability to inspire and develop future leaders
– Strong customer service skills
