    Application Engineering Manager

    The Application Engineering Manager works with the internal company team and external customers, including sales representatives/distributors, OEMs, and end users, to design, specify, and quote custom, design, engineer and build to order equipment. The Application Engineering Manager will be responsible for hiring and training a team as the business grows, to ensure consistency in the Application Engineering Department for the best possible customer experience and robust processes.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    - Be familiar with the company’s complete product line and understand the company equipment technology, and to advise customers of the best solution for their process.
    - Support Sales Team with building quotes for customers, BOM and 3D drawings for customers approval.
    - Manager Applications Engineers to support business goals and objectives.
    - Work with sales representatives and customers to collect application information about details such as bulk density of customer materials, upstream and downstream process requirements, etc.
    - Design customized equipment solutions, suitable to customers’ processes, ensuring proper application and mechanical reliability.
    - Work with purchasing and external vendors to source special materials and components.
    - Calculate standard and special pricing for recommended solutions.
    - Collaborate with manufacturing team to develop appropriate lead times and to resolve quality issues.
    - Provide technical quotes, data, and support to internal and external customers.
    - Develop preliminary drawings and 3D models to communicate concepts to customers
    - Plan and complete laboratory testing with customer samples to evaluate material characteristics and adjust recommended solution.
    - Aids with marketing data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    - Maintains and updates technical presentations, training, and promotional materials
    - Acts as the main interface between Sales and Engineering.

    Education and Experience

    - Four-year engineering degree from ABET accredited college. Mechanical, chemical or materials science disciplines are preferred.
    - Ability to solve problems within practical constraints and short timeframes.
    - Experience with Engineered and Build to order equipment.
    - Previous or current experience as an Application Engineering Manager, Supervisor, New Product Quoting or similar role.
    - Clear communicator in both verbal and written forms
    - Comfortable with explaining technical content.
    - Capable of working independently to accomplish a variety of tasks with shifting priorities.
    - Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and adept at learning new software systems. Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling software is preferred.
    - Willingness to travel periodically for trade show, training, or field troubleshooting.
